    johhny,

glad to hear ur doin better,,and pullin out some nice sized crappie!--the copper you saw was likely a copper-stub -out,,found at home depot for appr.$2--and is hollow inside---w/ a rounded,.closed end,. so i made a cheap fire piston out of it!---i did use one as a copper bopper for knapping, but they need some sanding,,and some lead melted into the the rounded end to really be effective as a smaller copper bopper...---if u take a 1-11/2 in[or what ever size u need,,,--copper end cap at hardware/plumbing store,,,and a dowel rod the fits in it,,,you can cut the dowel into 4in, pieces as handles,,and dome the top of one and slowly heat and dome the flat surface of the copper end cap,,---when you have it rounnded,,melt into it some lead ,,fill up the domed part inside with lead,,---then smooth the surface flat-----take the flat end of a dowel you cut off,,,epoxy the flat end and the flat lead surface,,,beat them to -gether{---should be a little bit of a tight fit!---use a crimping tool or something to CRIMP AROUNG THE EDGES OF THE COPPER--MABEY ALITTLE SANDING OF THE DOWEL------LET IT DRY FOR ATLEAST A DAY OR SO-------
AND THERE YOU GO---YOUR VERY OWN COPPER BOPPERS---ANY SIZE YOU NEEED,,I RECOMMEND ,,A LARGE 2-3IN OR SO FOR SPALLS,, --THEN FOR KNAPPING--[1]-1-2IN..[1]-1/2-3/4,AMD [1]-1/2IN.

ALSO I FOUND AT A ELECTRICAL STORE--COPPER WIRE---ALL THE RIGHT SIZES FOR MY ISHI STICK--FOR PRESSURE FLAKING,......AGAIN USE DOWEL ROD--MABEY SOME DUCT TAPE AS GRIP DRILL THE ENDS BOUT 4-6 IN IN FROM EACH END..
THEN A SET A SMALL SET SCREW ON THE SIDE OF EACH END--APPR. 1/2 IN.DOWN FROM THE ENDS..
USE hex-head or..,,alan screw------let the screwgo into the hole you drilled into the end so when you insert the copper wire,,,..--you can tighten or loosen it to adjust the lenght of the wire sticking out{appr.1/2---3/4in}------uuse---appr,. the 1/4 or 3/8ths on one end and the 1/8 or less on the other---use a pointed ,sharp metal tipped dart as the notcher-----

and i GYARANTEE---WITH THESE TOOLYOU'LL KNAPP PIECES EVEN EASIER---
--oh---the ishi stick appr.14in. to almost 2ft. lonf---the copper wire-use a flat file ,,and a even downward motion around 3 sides to create a point on it---the point doesnt have to be very sharp,,a little dull is ok---u see what works for you...-----i may have some of the xtra copper wire,,- i will see-----later--rob

ya for my boppers i like a rounded cap with a pvc handle. i have verl little control with wood handles and heavy boppers. for my ishi and all my preasure flakers i use ground wire from a teliphone pole seems to work. i was wanting some solid copper rod bout 1 1/2" and 6" long for spalling thats why i asked

i appreciate your support ,,i believe ur right ,the GOOD LORD will BLESS,,and things will get better!!!

you should have my address from the last post,,and if you send the stave{s}--just send it/them--light small----like mabey =no longer than 5 1/2 ft. long---and 5-6 inches wide by only 3-4inches thick..........IF U WANT,,,THATS OK------------AND BELIEVE ME,,WHEN I CAN --i will be sending u some cool things---one of the things will be a really easy to use bow drill set---and when you get it ---i want you to call my cell phone and i will talk you thru it=--and -you'll be making fires
